Biography
Salvador Calvo
- 1948
- Born in Istán (Málaga), Spain.
- 1964-69
- Begins his art education under Professor Cristóbal Aguilar for several years at the Centro Oficial del Patronato de Enseñanza Media, Ronda (Málaga), Spain.
- 1968
- Wins first prize in painting for the province of Málaga (Certamen Juvenil de Artes Plásticas de la provincia de Málaga).
- 1972-1982
- Lives briefly in London and Paris.
- Settles in Madrid in 1973. It is in this city where decides to devote himself to art.
- Takes AFHA courses of interior design.
- Takes art classes and works in the studios of various artists, among them the Ecuadorian Francisco Coello.
- Copies Velázquez and Goya in the Prado Museum, Madrid.
- Works on interior design with J.R. Decoración, Madrid.
- Studies photography at the Escuela Photo Centro, Madrid.
- Studies intaglio printing at Tres en Raya with Manolo Ayllón, Madrid.
- 1982
- Moves to Chicago, U.S.
- Takes classes at Evanston Art Center, Evanston, Illinois.
- 1991
- He begins working sculpture in wood, integrating other materials such as metal and stone.
- Parallel artistic activities:
- Innovative interior design.
- Fine Art photography.
- Since 1982, this artist works and exhibits in the United States and Europe.
- 2003
- His large sculpture-homage to his hometown, LA ESFERA was inaugurated in Istán (Málaga), Spain, in 2003.

- Returns to Spain, traveling frequently to the U.S.
